Primary Care Psychology and Counselling Service

Following a procurement process led by NHS Tower Hamlets CCG, East London Foundation Trust (ELFT) has been awarded the contract for Primary Care Psychological Therapy Services in Tower Hamlets.

Compass Wellbeing has been providing Psychology & Counselling Services in Tower Hamlets for the past 5 years, and as part of the previous NHS Community Health Services, for over 30 years. We are very proud of what we have achieved for local people; pioneering partnership work in primary care and the community; and being the first service of its kind to have psychologists and counsellors embedded in practices. Over the years we have developed further innovations including our Community Disability and Health Counselling Service, our Primary Care Eating Disorders Service and our award winning Peri-Natal Service.

As a locally developed social enterprise, we were able to increase access and quality of our services year on year, as well as invest further in our community and the local economy through employment projects, levering new technologies and bringing together physical health services with mental health. We have made a difference for both our service users and our colleagues that we work with every day.

We would like to wish ELFT well for the future and will be working closely with them over the coming weeks and months through the transition. Our service users and staff are at the heart of everything that we do, and we will communicate more information once timelines and next steps are confirmed.

It has been a privilege to serve the people of Tower Hamlets, and we will be holding a number of events to mark and celebrate the contribution that we have made in partnership with colleagues. We will be in touch soon with more information.
