Cultural Safety Training (Pilot) in Newham

Cultural Safety Training (Pilot) in Newham

On behalf of East London Foundation NHS Trust (ELFT), Compass Wellbeing CIC invites local voluntary, community, and social enterprise organisations to come forward, as part of ELFT’s continuing Community Mental Health Transformation Programme, to express interest in providing a pilot training programme on cultural safety training to colleagues and service partners within ELFT.

Successful applicants will be invited to work with East London Foundation NHS Trust to continue the development of the new model of care. The trust would like staff to have the opportunity to improve their learning and understanding in order to improve engagement with ethnic/ global majority communities to deliver better population health outcomes. The trust sees cultural humility and awareness training as providing staff members with a greater understanding of cultures that are different from their own and support to recognise service users’ unique cultural experiences.

ELFT is committed to the development of a cultural safety model and is actively considering ways to increase the number of such opportunities in future (dependent on local and national funding availability). As such, there is a possibility of additional funding streams for projects that could either be procured through a separate process or as contract variations through this process.

Funding duration: 3 months
Funding amount: £10,000

Funding applications return deadline: 23:59 on 2/2/2023

Expression of interest to our funding opportunities are now closed.
