Background: Community Connectors
Fundamental to the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme and our new care model, is the formation of Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams made up of voluntary sector, mental health, and primary care staff. As part of the development of the teams the trust committed to building the role of community connectors to bring a level of expertise in wider social support and well-being to the Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams in Tower Hamlets, City & Hackney and Newham.

About the fund: Learning and development offer
East London Foundation NHS Trust (ELFT) has secured funding through Health Education England to support the development of a learning set, competency framework and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme for the community connectors and is seeking a partner to lead this across all three boroughs. We welcome applications for the delivery of all or part of the three core deliverables. Be explicit in your application about what you are proposing to provide:
• Co-design with community connectors, service users, and members of the Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams a standardised competency framework for the community connector role
• Develop and deliver an associated CPD framework that will ensure all current community connectors meet the core community connector competencies
• Facilitate an on-going action learning set for community connectors across East London
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the development and learning offer of the Community Connector role.

Funding available and timeframes
£30,000 has been allocated by Health Education England to deliver this piece of work. We would expect the competency framework and/or an action learning set to have been facilitated by early Summer 2022.

The successful applicant must be able to initiate the programme by the end of March 2022. In your application be explicit about the period over which you will deliver e.g. 6 months.
Once submitted, applications will be reviewed and evaluated by our trust panel with an aim to award to a provider by early March 2022.
The aim is for successful applicants to be transferred the entirety of the award in a single payment by early-mid March 2022.

We welcome applications from current providers of the Community Connector roles across any of the East London boroughs or from any other VCSE organisations based in East London that is able to mobilise by end of March 2022. We will also consider partnership applications.
